Timothy Charles Holmseth claims to be an “award winning journalist” and his supporters use this term to give Holmseth credibility. Winning an essay contest is great and all, but the contest wasn’t for a large media outlet or an esteemed media organization that hands out journalistic awards such as the Pulitzer Prize which is only given to journalists whose works have appeared in US newspapers. It is administered by the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York City. No, Timothy Charles Holmseth received a much lesser award and all he has to show for it is a screenshot from his word processing program on his computer. Also, if you note Mr. Holmseth is such an amatuer that he doesn’t know how to use Microsoft Word as a .doc but has copied into rich text format. Any “journalist” worth his salt would use the program in .doc format, and he would have a certificate to show his “win”.
I was already an award-winning news reporter with the North Dakota Newspaper Association and my independent project found me being interviewed by the Minneapolis FBI regarding my work product of recorded interviews – where I was deemed a credible witness. I had long since been granted sole physical custody of my five-year-old daughter by a Minnesota court and raised her alone to adulthood. I had also passed an extensive federal background check by the United States Department of Agriculture and was authorized to enter secure ares of a federal facility. I was a good guy. But I knew way too much. about the bad guys.
To provide a little history on the “North Dakota Newspaper Association” which the reader may find interesting. They provide advertising for newspapers and publications throughout North Dakota. Timothy worked for the Wahpeton Daily News for about a year and was terminated from his position there for plageurism. Here is a list of every article Holmseth wrote for them, including the school board series he won the contest for. Winning an award is great, but this is not what Holmseth and his supporters are making it out to be.

As you can also see from his statement that he was already a long standing “news reporter with the North Dakota Newspaper Association and my independent project found me being interviewed by the Minneapolis FBI regarding my work product of recorded interviews – where I was deemed a credible witness.” Take a look at all of the articles written for the Wahpeton Daily News and note how many are regarding missing or exploited children.
